Roopa Bharvani

Roopa is a HR professional with over 20+ years of experience at banking & financial institutions. She began her career in HR with JPMorgan Chase, where she spent close to 12 years building and supporting functions across the bank. Prior to a career in Human Resources, Roopa has also worked in organizations such as CNBC TV18 in production and Hughes Telecomm in Customer Services (now Tata teleservices).

Over the course of 20+ years, Roopa has actively championed and been part of several committees focused on CSR and ID&E.  She was also part of the Detroit Service Corps program (2014, a program sponsored by Jamie Dimon),) at JPMorgan, wherein she spent 3 weeks in Detroit partnering with a local nonprofit (Focus Hope) on a skill based volunteering program.

Her role at TIAA India encompasses functions across the employee life cycle such as talent acquisition, HR business partnering, Learning and Talent management, Employee Relations, Compensation, Wellness and Benefits etc. Over and above, Roopa is also responsible for spear heading functions such as Corporate Communication, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (ID&E). Roopa is also responsible for leading on Labor and HR compliances for the India entity.

Prior to joining TIAA, Roopa was the Human Resources lead for First Data (Technology arm, now Fiserv) in India. She spent nearly 5 years with First Data, setting up the technology entity across Pune and Chennai. In her role, Roopa also supported the APAC CIO on the Human Resources/People agenda across several countries (Australia, Korea, China and Singapore).
